Magic Kingdom Wedding | Disney World, Orlando

Orlando wedding photography & videography – Cinderella’s Castle & Storybook Circus

This magical Disney wedding was truly one for the record books! Originally slated to be married in May 2020 in front of Cinderella Castle, covid had other plans. After several postponements and a little heartache Marissa & Michael were FINALLY able to say “I Do” at the most magical place on earth on January 20, 2022. It was the first wedding I photographed to start the year and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off 2022!

We arrived at the Grand Floridian well after sunset so as you can imagine the entire days events were captured after dark. Working without any natural light can be very difficult, but thankfully we had an awesome team to make it happen! We arrived into Magic Kingdom just before 11:00pm where Marissa & Michael shared their first look on the bridge facing Cinderella’s castle.

Her custom dress from Paolo Sebastian featured stunning embroidery including several romantic quotes and blue birds beautifully reminiscent of Cinderella. Michael who is in the US Army wore his military blues and looked like a real life prince. It was a surreal moment to see Magic Kingdom completely empty in all it’s glory.

Their wedding ceremony took place just after midnight and featured a comical greeting by Anastasia & Drusilla while a string quartet played several Taylor Swift songs (so cool!). The bride entered with her parents on a horse drawn carriage that was beautifully illuminated and walked down a custom glitter aisle.

Their officiant Katherine Imundi performed a lovely ceremony with lots of Disney nods as well as a handfasting ceremony and a pinky promise! The grand finale was the surprise fireworks when they kissed– my night was made.

The celebration continued at Storybook Circus in Magic Kingdom where they had a “Greatest Showman” themed wedding reception. I definitley got misty eyed when they did their first dance to “A Million Dreams” from the movie soundtrack. From there the surprises kept flowing from multiple food stations to a live event painter to a visit from Mickey & Minnie themselves! WOW.

Our night ended at 3:15AM– yes I had to drink a bang energy drink after the ceremony to make it through. :) (Not to mention we also had another wedding to shoot later that morning.) Despite the overnight hours, it was absolutely perfect and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Picking my favorite images was SO HARD… but here are a few magical highlights from this spectacular Disney wedding as well as their wedding film. It’s all wildly awesome if I do say so myself! Enjoyyyyy <3
